What it is

Create a link for what you are collecting — a fee, an order, a donation — and send it to whoever is paying. They open it and pay.

The person paying does not need a PesewaPay account. They can pay by mobile money, which is the whole point: a link has to be payable by somebody who has never heard of us.

Can I stop a link?

Yes — pause it, set an expiry, or cap how many times it may be used. It stops accepting payment immediately.

How it works

From start to finish

1

Create the link

What it is for, and how much — or leave the amount open and let the payer decide.

2

Set your guard rails

A minimum and a maximum on an open amount, how many times it can be used, and when it stops working. Ask the payer for a name, a phone number, or a note of your own wording — an order number, a class, whatever you need to reconcile against.

3

Share it

Anywhere. It is a link.

4

Money arrives

Each payment records who paid, what they typed, and what reached you after charges.

Where your money is

At every point, you can say where it sits

  1. 1 Anyone pays mobile money, no account needed
  2. 2 Confirmed the count and total update on settlement, not on the attempt
  3. 3 Your merchant wallet less charges
What we guarantee

Not promises. Mechanisms.

Each of these is enforced in the software rather than stated as a policy. A policy can be broken; these cannot.

Somebody with no PesewaPay account can still pay you

Mobile money is open to anyone who opens the link. Paying from a PesewaPay wallet obviously needs one — but that asymmetry is the product, not a limitation.

An open amount cannot be paid wrong by a factor of a hundred

Set a minimum and a maximum on any link where the payer chooses the amount. A mistyped figure is otherwise indistinguishable from a real one.

A link's totals only count money that actually arrived

The usage count and the amount collected update when a payment settles, never when somebody merely starts one.

Questions

What people actually ask

Yes — pause it, set an expiry, or cap how many times it may be used. It stops accepting payment immediately.

Yes. Use the note field to tell payments apart — ask for an order number or a name and it is recorded against each one.

Yes, leave the amount blank. Set a minimum and a maximum when you do.

Any charge is shown to you before you confirm, on the same screen you confirm on — never afterwards and never buried. Charges differ by service and some are currently nothing at all. A refund is never charged for.
