Set up a payment that comes round regularly — rent, a subscription, money home every month — and PesewaPay keeps track of when it is due.
By default it reminds you and you decide. It will only move money by itself if you explicitly ask for that and prove your PIN, because the difference between the two is somebody's rent leaving without them expecting it.
Only if you set the schedule to automatic and confirmed it with your PIN. Otherwise you are reminded and nothing moves until you act.
Who, how much, how often. The person you are paying is a phone number, so they do not have to have joined yet.
Reminder is the default. Automatic requires your PIN, and both the fact you gave it and when are recorded.
A reminder tells you and waits. An automatic one checks four things before a single pesewa moves — that it really is automatic, that the PIN authorisation is on file, that the person exists, and that you have the money.
The reason is recorded against the schedule so the app can explain the silence instead of leaving you wondering.
Each of these is enforced in the software rather than stated as a policy. A policy can be broken; these cannot.
A reminder schedule cannot debit anything, ever. Automatic is something you have to ask for, with your PIN, and the evidence is kept.
When an automatic payment cannot go through, the reason is stored against the schedule and shown to you. An automatic payment that quietly did not happen is worse than one that visibly failed.
It reuses exactly the same movement, so the charges, the record and the balance rules behave identically. There is no second, less careful path for money that moves on a timer.
PesewaPay is not on the app stores yet. Join the early access list and we will tell you the day it is — no other mail, and nothing shared.
