What it is

Money set aside for something specific, kept apart from your spending balance so you can actually answer the question of how much you have put by.

Set a target if you have one and an amount to sweep in on a cycle if you want it to build without you thinking about it. Some plans lock for a period; those pay more, and breaking the lock early costs something you will be shown before you do it.

Can I get my money out early?

Yes. On a locked plan it costs the penalty for that plan, and you are shown exactly what you will receive before you confirm.

How it works

From start to finish

1

Choose a plan

Plans differ in whether they lock, for how long, and what breaking the lock costs.

2

Open a vault

Name it for what it is for. Set a target if you have one — reaching it completes the vault by itself.

3

Let it fill

Add money whenever, or set an amount and a cycle and let it sweep in on its own.

4

Take it out

After maturity it costs nothing. Before, on a locked plan, the penalty is shown and has to be confirmed.

Where your money is

At every point, you can say where it sits

  1. 1 Your wallet or mobile money
  2. 2 The vault's own balance kept separate from your spending money
  3. 3 Back to your wallet less any early-withdrawal penalty
What we guarantee

Not promises. Mechanisms.

Each of these is enforced in the software rather than stated as a policy. A policy can be broken; these cannot.

You cannot be charged a penalty you were never shown

A withdrawal that would cost a penalty is refused unless it arrives explicitly confirmed. It is not possible to lose money here to a charge that was never put in front of you.

Savings are held apart from your spending money

Every vault has its own balance rather than being a number subtracted from your main one. That is what makes 'how much have I actually got aside' a question with an answer.

Questions

What people actually ask

Yes. On a locked plan it costs the penalty for that plan, and you are shown exactly what you will receive before you confirm.

The vault completes itself and you are told. The money stays yours to withdraw whenever you want.

No. Automatic saving is optional — set an amount and a cycle, or add money by hand whenever you like.

Any charge is shown to you before you confirm, on the same screen you confirm on — never afterwards and never buried. Charges differ by service and some are currently nothing at all. A refund is never charged for.
